Information Technology Assistant - Vienna
Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Messaging Team (MT) of the Core Operations Unit (COU), Information Technology Service (ITS), Division for Management (DM), United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in Vienna. The Information Technology Assistant will work under the direct supervision of Team Leader of the Messaging Team and the overall guidance of the Supervisor, Core Operations Unit. Responsibilities The Information Technology Assistant will perform the following duties:
•Assist the UNOV/UNODC community in the usage of the O365 application suite, especially with MS SharePoint and MS Teams.
•Perform daily monitoring of the iNeed service request and work order queues and assign workorders to the team members.
•Assist and perform as second level support to requests from user offices and service desk.
•Perform daily monitoring of the O365 user account requests including distribution lists, Teams groups, and other O365 roles. Check the consistency of O365 accounts with the definitions in the legacy systems.
•Collect statistics on the performance and reliability of the UNOV/UNODC messaging system including mail routing.
•Perform other work related duties as required. Competencies •Professionalism: Has knowledge of information technology and applications, including computer system networks. Education High school diploma or equivalent. Supplementary courses/technical certificates in information technology are a distinct asset. Work Experience Five years of experience in information technologies or related area are required.
In-depth experience of technologies used in Office 365 is required.
Working experience in Office 365, MS Teams and Sharepoint management tools is an asset. Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of another UN official language is an asset. The GGST is a proctored entry-level examination at the duty station.
