Professor of Digital Marketing and Social Media

to begin immediately.

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise and a sound theoretical understanding of marketing as well as professional experience acquired by having held a leading position in the field of marketing. The candidate must be academically qualified and hold a Habilitation (post-doctorate) degree or should have high-quality publications (ABS ranking, VHB Jourqual and Impact Factor) in international specialized journals and scientific conferences with peer-review procedures which - in total and in accordance to applicable guidelines – are deemed comparable to a Habilitation degree at the JKU. At the same time, the candidate should demonstrate outstanding documented educational qualifications to teach marketing at universities. Habilitation-equivalent research accomplishments and real-world experience in a management position in the field of digital marketing and social media marketing are mandatory qualifications that cannot be mutually compensated for when selecting qualified individuals from a pool of applicants.

In lieu of faculty participation in the subject area and the JKU Business School’s involvement in the university’s focus of "Digital Transformation", the professorship position will be in Digital Marketing with a special focus on Social Media Marketing. Digital marketing is to be understood as marketing in a digital economy in which digital technologies - social media in particular - are used as an integral part of marketing campaigns and strategies. The successful candidate is expected to possess outstanding expertise in the field of online campaigning, brand management and measuring (online) marketing performance.

The successful candidate is expected to represent and further develop education in the academic area of "Digital Marketing and Social Media" (at all levels of education ranging from undergraduate studies to Executive Education) and conduct closely coordinated research with colleagues in related fields. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to be willing to cooperate with the department head, the JKU Business School, and the Rectorate to develop and position Johannes Kepler University brands. The successful candidate is expected to assume administrative tasks and duties and exercise independent administration at the university. In addition to key professional qualifications, the successful candidate should also possess a strong social skill set.

An annual gross salary above the amount of € 71,822.80 at full-time employment as stated in the collective agreement will be offered.
